Web 2.0.....to me this means a wonderful new way to connect to others! I listened to the podcast at Teachers 2.0 ,watched the atomic video at What is Web 2.0? and read the article Web 2.0 : A guide for educators. I am a more traditional person and like keeping things as normal as possible. I love to read, but can not get in with the new e-book crazy, because I need to have they book in my hands! Yet, I am loving the Web 2.0 information I am seeing. I know there are some downsides, but I believe if we as future educators use the tools correctly we will develop classrooms that are highly effective and the students love coming to. I know it will take some time to get parents to understand the changes in some cases, but I believe the future of education is limitless with the technology at had. I love the way communication with parents and students will be easier through the Internet, along with ways of using the new technology to set up classroom blogs,websites, etc. will help reduce paper use and save trees.
I started my degree years ago in 1998 and was upset with having to put it off, but I am SO excited that I get to receive all this wonderful instruction!!! I do believe trying to adapt into this would be much harder than going in to the classroom on day one with the knowledge in hand.
